This Scheme seeks to give assistance to young artistes of outstanding promise for advanced training within India. The following fields are considered for the shcolarships 1.Indian Classical Music 2. Classical Hindustani Music (Vocal and Instrumental) 3. Classical Carnatic Music (Vocal & Instrumental etc.) 4. Indian Classical Dance/ Dance Music . 5. Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, Mohiniattam, Odissi Dance/ Music, Manipuri Dance/ Music, Thangta, Gaudiya Nritya, Chhau Dance/ Music, Sattriya dance. 6. Theatre 7. Any specialized aspect of theatre art, including acting, direction, etc., but excluding playwriting and research. 8. Mime. 9. Visual Arts, Graphics, Sculpture, Painting, Creative Photography, Pottery & Ceramics, etc. 9. Folk, Traditional and Indigenous Arts 10. Puppetry, Folk Theatre, Folk dances, Folk Songs, Folk Music, etc.( An indicative list can be seen at Para 10 ?Note?) 11. Light Classical Music, Thumri, Dadra, Tappa, Qawali, Ghazal, Light Classical music based on Carnatic Style, etc. 12. Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, Atulprasad.
1.Total Number of Scholarships 400. 2. The Scholar will be required to undergo a rigorous training. Such training will include minimum of three hours a day for practice alone apart from the time spent for acquiring knowledge of the theory of the subject/field concerned and also an appreciation of the related disciplines. 3. The nature of training will be determined in each case after taking into consideration the previous training and background of the scholar. Normally, it will be in the nature of advance training under a Guru/ Master or in a recognized institution.
Scholarship Amount : 5000/- Per month
Scholarship Duration : 2 Years
Selection Criteria :
Candidates will be required to appear for an interview/ performance before an expert Committee. The date, time and venue of the interview/performance will be intimated to the candidates through e-mail given by the candidates in their online application. The selection will be made purely on merit.
